Britton Decoflex Introduces - POLY-PACT
Mark Binks - Commercial Manager.It has long been acknowledged that polythene packaging is a cost effective, environmentally friendly alternative to the use of conventional cardboard boxes. Due to lack of friction however, pallet stability has always been a concern and has proved a barrier to the widespread use of “polypackaging”.
Britton Decoflex, a part of the Britton Group, has developed a blend of material that will revolutionize the use of polythene packaging. “POLY-PACT” utilizes a material with a high friction surface, this is created via a special extrusion technique developed by their sister company Britton Taco of Winsford, Cheshire. The marbleized “POLY-PACT” by design provides a stable pallet to rival any of its cardboard alternatives, with all of the added benefits of “polypackaging”.

As the number of pallets required to transport the finished goods is reduced so too are the costs of transport, which is not only good for business but good for the environment also.
3) Reduced Storage Costs As the number of pallets required to store the finished goods is reduced so too are the associated warehousing costs.
4) Protection from Water Ingress and Damp
POLY-PACT offers a waterproof alternative to cardboard packaging. Conventional pallets require plastic covering during transport to prevent the outer boxes from becoming wet and avoiding the problems associated with water effected cardboard. In addition, the marbleized film can be stored in damp conditions without detrimental effect to its contents.
5) Environmental Benefits
Not only does the environment benefit from the reduction in transport outlined above, ‘POLY-PACT’ is manufactured using recycled materials. All of the material used in this marbleized polypack is reclaimed from packaging waste and recycled into this new product. Once used the ‘ can be re-introduced into the recycling process and used over and over again.
